Simple squamous line blood vessels (smooth)
Cuboid Produce secretions e.g. mucus
Columnar Lines glands and digestive systems
Ciliated Lines air passages and fallopian tubes
Stratified squamous Horny stratified layer-no nucleus Germative layer of skin
Transitional Found in bladder capable of withstanding urine
CONNECTIVE TISSUE; White fibrous (e.g. ligements) Collagen fibres
Yellow elastic (e.g. elastic cartilage) White fibrous and yellow elastic
Areolar (e.g. subcutaneous tissue) Blood vessels Nerve fibres = packing tissue, combination of white fibres yellow elastic and cells
Adipose (e.g. around the kidneys) Similar to areolar, but containing many fat cells
