| earthquakes | sudden, violent movement of Earth crust, shakes the land |
| fault | crack in Earth's crust when plates collide |
| weathering | rock is broken down into smaller pieces, by ice, chemicals or even plants |
| erosion | rocks are moved by water, wind and/or ice |
| continental shelf | plateau off a continent that lies under the ocean |
| trench | cut in ocean floor |
| groundwater | water filters through soil into ground |
| aquifer | underground layer of rock through water |
| water cycle | water moves from the earth to air, back to earth |
| evaporation | water changes from liquid to gas |
| condensation | water changes from gas to liquid |
| precipitation | water falls to earth as snow or rain |
| collection | rivers & streams carry water that fall from the air |
| weather | change temperature, wind speed and moisture |
