What was used to build tepees, longhouses and pueblos? 1. Teepes - buffalo skin for cover and sticks for the frame 2. longhouses - trees for the frame and bark for the cover 3. pueblos - sun dried bricks, clay and cliffs
How were the people of the Arctic able to adapt their shelter to their environment? They used ice to make igloos
What are some things that are common to most Native American Tribes? Name a few thing you have read about. They all share a love and respect for the land; they all use the resources around them to survive; they all create legends to describe what happens in nature.
What resources did the Northwest Coast people have that were important to them? fertile soil, whales and fish from the ocean, trees to use for shelter
Why were trees more important to the Morthwest Coast and Eastern Woodland tribes than to the Plains people? The Plains people were nomadic. They traveled with the buffalo and needed houses that were easy to move so they didn't need trees. Trees were important to the other tribes because they were hunters and gathers and they had many trees.
