environment the area in which something lives or exists.
acid rain clouds or rain filled with pollutants that cause problems in the environment.
air pollution chemicals or other materials put in the atmosphere by humans; causes harm or discomfort to humans or the environment.
natural resource something that is found in nature and is necessary or useful to humans.
climate the weather of a location over time.
smog a mix of fog and smoke that can be seen over cities.
arable land land that is good for growing crops.
permafrost ground where the soil is always frozen; Example - parts of Russia.
nuclear power creates electricity using heat produced when atoms are split; can be dangerous.
