| fall line | the rise in elevation that separates the Coastal Plain from the Piedmont |
| Piedmont | a rolling, hilly plateau that stretches north from the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains |
| Appalachian Mountains | a large mountain range that stretches from Alabama to Canada (Covers 3% of GA) |
| Blue Ridge Mountains | the range of the Appalachian Mountains that stretch from Pennsylvania to Georgia. Oldest mountains in North America. |
| Valley and Ridge | a region that is part of the Appalachian Mountains that is characterized by fertile valleys that lay between mountains |
