| DOCTRINE | What is taught; the body of religious instruction |
| GRACE | From the original Greek literally meaning 'gift' and 'peace'; the gift God gives us to live a Christian life |
| INERRANT | Not making mistakes or errors |
| MISSION | From the Latin missio meaning 'a sending'; the apostles were sent by Jesus to extend the kingdom of God; the mission of the Church is to spread the Good News of Jesus |
| TRANSCENDS | To be beyond the range of human experience |
| TRADITION | From Latin, meaning to pass on from generation to generation, and refers to the content and the process of handing on the content; in the Church, Tradition (with a capital T) refers to the passing on of the Gospel and is closely united to scripture |
| INCARNATE | Both human and divine |
| OMNIPRESENT | Present everywhere at the same time |
| OMNIPOTENT | All powerful |
| CATHOLIC | universal |
