TermDefinition
DOCTRINE What is taught; the body of religious instruction
GRACE From the original Greek literally meaning 'gift' and 'peace'; the gift God gives us to live a Christian life
INERRANT Not making mistakes or errors
MISSION From the Latin missio meaning 'a sending'; the apostles were sent by Jesus to extend the kingdom of God; the mission of the Church is to spread the Good News of Jesus
TRANSCENDS To be beyond the range of human experience
TRADITION From Latin, meaning to pass on from generation to generation, and refers to the content and the process of handing on the content; in the Church, Tradition (with a capital T) refers to the passing on of the Gospel and is closely united to scripture
INCARNATE Both human and divine
OMNIPRESENT Present everywhere at the same time
OMNIPOTENT All powerful
