How long is a Supreme Court Justice’s term? For their entire life
What is the main job of the Supreme Court? To interpret the Laws made by Congress
Why are Supreme Court Justice’s terms so long? So that people cannot put them out of office because of their opinion
Who is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court? John Roberts
What are the three levels of the federal court system? The Trial Court, the Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court
What does the word “appeal” mean? To ask for a new verdict
What part of government has to approve all Supreme Court Justices? The Executive branch
What is Judicial Review?
What does the 1st Amendment protect? (hint: 5 parts) The freedoms of speech, the press, religion, Assembly, and Petition
What does the 2nd Amendment protect? The right to bear arms
What does the 3rd Amendment protect? It protects people from Soldiers Quartering in their houses without their permission
What does the 4th Amendment protect? Unreasonable Searches and Seizures. Police must show a warrant.
What does the 5th Amendment protect? The right to a Grand Jury hearing, the Due Process of the law, to not have any Self-Incrimination or Double Jeopardy, and to not have private property taken without "just compensation".
What does the 6th Amendment protect? The Right to a Speedy trial, a Public trial, an Impartial Jury, to not be kept in jail before the Court makes a decision, to be told when and where the supposed crime was, and to be told why you are being tried.
What does the 7th Amendment protect? It usually protects Civil cases, but it always protects the Right to have a Jury trial.
What does the 8th Amendment protect? It protects people from any and all excessive bails, excessive fines, and the most important of all, anything punishment considered cruel and unusual punishment by the U.S. Government.
What does the 9th Amendment claim? That if any other certain rights (like privacy) not listed in the Constitution, it doesn't mean that Americans do not have these rights.
What type of government does the 10th Amendment protect? The State Government
What is the Bill of Rights? The list of Rights that Americans have
