What is the main job of the supreme court? Settle disputes between states. Interpreting laws.
Why is the supreme court justices term so long? Keep the group fairly stable. Don't worry about their job.

What are the tree levels of the federal court system. District court, federal court of appeal, U.S supreme court.
What does the word "appeal" mean? To transfer from lower to higher court system.
What part of the government has to approve all supreme court justices? Senate
What is judicial Review? Which legislative and executive actions are subject to review.
What does the 1st amendment protect? Prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, the free exercise of religion,the freedom of speech, and the freedom of the press,
What does the 2nd amendment protect? The right to Keep and Bear Arms
What does the 3rd amendment protect? Places restrictions on the quartering of soldiers in private homes without the owner's consent, forbidding the practice in peacetime.
What does the 4th amendment protect? The part of the Bill of Rights that prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and requires any warrant to be checked by a judge.
The 5th, 6th, 7th amendment protect your rights in......? The right to a jury trial in certain civil cases, and inhibits courts from overturning a jury's findings of fact.
What does the 8th amendment protect? Prohibiting the federal government from imposing excessive bail, excessive fines or cruel and unusual punishments, including torture
What does the 9th amendment claim? Addresses rights, retained by the people, that are not specifically written in the Constitution.
What type of government does the 10th amendment protect? Constitution's principle of federalism by providing that powers not granted to the federal government by the Constitution, nor prohibited to the States, are reserved to the States or the people.
What is the Bill of Rights? The Bill of Rights is the collective name for the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution
