What does a sociocultural approach seek to do? Readers consider what the text wants them to do, think or believe. Students learn to evaluate, question and discuss.
How does critical literacy relate to visual literacies in curriculum? Graphic design, symbols and images.
How does critical literacy relate to digital literacies in curriculum? ICT, multimodal texts, SMS.
How does critical literacy relate to cultural literacies in curriculum? ESL, observances and practices.
In what ways do digital media (DM) have the potential to shift the terms of the literacy debate? DM requires discipline & practice, IQ rises, develops problem solving processes, 'toolbox of 21st century'. education revolution in teaching.
What are the essential skills of literacy? Locating, comprehending, using, critiquing, creating in context.
