Why George Washington Chosen As 1st President

Why was GW chosen to lead the Continental Army? He had more military experience than most Americans.
Why was he an excellent general? -Didn't give up, he would not surrender, he was an example to others -more to his job than winning -courageous and steady -makes an army out of shopkeepers and farmers
What hardships did GW bring his troops through? His army was hungry, cold, not appropriately dressed, not enough supplies and were fighting well-rested and well-trained soldiers, lost many battles.
Who did the representatives elected as the new leader after the Constitution to bring the colonies together? George Washington
What was GW's goals as a new president? lead the new nation
