TermDefinition
Quaran Islam's holy book. To Muslims, it is the word of God.
Sunnah The traditions (words and actions) of Muhammad. Guidelines for living a proper life.
hajj A journey to a sacred place or shrine like Mecca is for Muslims. The Fifth Pillar
mosque Muslim house of worship. It faces Mecca
Sharia The Isamic law code which includes "the Way" or the right way to act!
monotheism belief in one God just like Jews and Christians
Five Pillars of Islam Belief, Prayer, Charity, Fasting, Pilgrimage
Fasting Not eating or drinking. Takes place during Ramadan. Tests Muslim's commitment to God.
Islam means "submission" in Arabic or giving into God's will.
