Cold War

Communism An economic system in which property and buisnesses are owned by the government for the benefits of all citizens.
Capitalism An economic system in which property and businesses are privately owned.
Superpower A country with very great political and military power which may be used to influence the actions of other countries.
Cold War The intense political conflict between the U.S and the Soviet Union from 1945 to 1991
Veteran A person who has served in the armed forces, especially someone who has fought in the war.
Suburb A community in an area surrounding an urban city.
Vietnam War A military conflict (from 1954-1975) between communist forces in North Vietnam and noncommunist forces in South Vietnam. The Soviet Union supported North Vietnam, while the U.S supported South Vietnam.
Fallout Shelter An underground shelter with family necessities people went into if there was a nuclear attack.
G.I Bill of rights U.S laws stating that veterans would have help getting back into schooling (if needed) or a new house.
World War II A war fought from 1939-1945 by the U.S and was between Germany and Great Britten.
Soviet Union A group formed in 1917 by The Russians who were fed up with monarchy.
Nuclear Attack The Soviet Union attacked the U.S with nuclear bombs.
