Alamo Texans v. Mexican army. The Texans lost, but it boosted their morale.
"Remember the Alamo" The slogan that inspired Texans to fight hard against the Mexican army.
Manifest Destiny The idea that God gave Americans the continent and wanted them to settle western lands
John L. O'Sullivan Created the phrase Manifest Destiny.
Battle at Jacinto The battle where the Texans defeated the Mexican army & won independence.
- Became Mexican citizens - Live under Mexican laws -Convert to Catholicism The requirements to get the cheap land in Texas. The rules were created by the Mexican government.
