What did King Henry the II do? King Henry the II insisted that a jury formally accuse someone of crime and be heard by a royal judge.
What did King Henry the II how did the new law make problems for him? King Henry the II's law made a problem that led to a serious conflict with the church
Who was King John King Henry II's younger son
What did King John do to make enemy's? King John made enemy's by the Nobles taxing heavily, and losing land to the French, Ignoring the Nobles rights, and fought with the church
How did the nobles address these problems? The barons forced a meeting with King John and made him sign the Great Charter(Magna Carta).
What did the Magna Carta do? The Magna Carta was an agreement between the Nobles and the King
Why was the Magna Carta historically important King John had to observe the rights of the nobles and the church and promised to meet with both groups before collecting taxes
What was the Model Parliament the Model Parliament It included more people in the government
How did all the events lead to the decline of feudalism? Power was shifting from the lords to monarchs and power began shifting to the common people
Where did the Black Death begin? Central Asia (China)
Where did The Black Death spread? China,India,Europe,Italy,& England
What were symptoms of The Black Death? Fever, vomiting, coughing and sneezing, and egg sized swelling and bumps.
What contributed to the spread of the plague? Bacteria was carried by rats, Many homes were infested by rats, on the streets there was animal and human waste, dead animals and trash, and bathing and changing of clothes was not often.
How did The Black Death effect the Jews? Many people blamed the Jews for the plague.
Why did The Black Death effect the Jews? prejudice led to many being persecuted and forced to leave cities and countries throughout Europe.
What did the plague do to the population of Europe? It a lot of them.
What percent of population died because of the Plague? approximately 33%
How did the plague affect the feudal system? The need for workers was high, but there were fewer workers due to the plague.
What was the English Peasants' War? The peasants entered London and presented their demands for more rights to King Richard II.
What was the reason for the Hundred Years' war> England and France fought a series of wars over control of lands in France.
what was the Story of Joan of Arc? She fought in the war, and when the English found out that she was a girl the y had her executed and 500 years later they made her a saint
How was Feudalism effected by the War? The war helped shift the power from feudal lords to monarchs and common people
How was Military technology effected by the war? Knights and castles were less useful.
How did the War effect Nationalism? There was a new feeling of nationalism which shifted power away from the lords.
How did the war effect the Peasants? During the war, peasants were forced to serve in the army and pay heavy taxes often.
