Redback A kind of money created by the Republic of Texas; it was red in color.

Slave State A state in which slavery was allowed.
Free State A state in which slavery was not allowed.
Abolitionist A person who worked to end slavery.
Manifest Destiny The belief that the United States was meant to stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.
Public Lands The land that people of a state or country own.
Consequence What happens because of an action.
