Citizenship Executive Branch Vocab

What's a Bureaucracy? An organization that takes action on unnecessary procedures and red tape; decisions made by officials rather than representatives
Who is the Chief Executive? The head of Executive Branch is the President.
What is the Administration? The running of the Executive Branch?
What is the Cabinet? People elected by a head of state to be in charge of executive departments of government; they act as official advisors.
What is the Foreign Policy? A policy in charge of making decisions involving relations with foreign countries.
What is a Treaty? A treaty is a formal agreement made in terms of coming to an alliance or peace.
What is Executive Privilege? The right chosen by the president to hold information from congress or the judiciary; done because of National Security.
What is an Executive Agreements? An agreement between the entire branch in terms of administrative matters.
Who is the Commander in Chief? The Commander in Chief is the President. He or She is of highest command.
What is the Electoral College? The Electoral College are the electors that represent the political parties of the state and D.C. and was made to help balance the power of big and small states.
Is the Presidential Election taken with the Popular vote or the Electoral College vote? The Electoral College vote.
How is the # of Electors chosen? Essentially it is the same # of members of Congress.
What is Presidential Pardon? Presidential Pardon allows the President to set anyone who has broken a federal law to be set free under his command as long as it wasn't a conviction for murder.
What does the President have the power to appoint? President has the power to appoint the following: ambassador to foreign states, supreme court justices, federal judges, cabinet members; secretary of defense, and secretary of state.
What is required by the president to deliver in which reports to congress and expresses plans for the country’s future? State of the Union
