| Socrates | Greek philosopher; teaching style was based on asking questions called Socratic Method. He was arrested and condemned to death for challenging the authority of the gods. |
| Plato | Greek philosopher; started a school in Athens called the Academy and wrote The Republic. |
| Aristotle | Greek philosopher; taught that people should live lives of moderation, balance and use reason in their lives |
| Euclid | Greek mathematician; one of the greatest mathematicians in history. He is famous for his contributions to the field of geometry. |
| Hippocrates | Greek doctor; regarded as the father of medicine. He tried to find out what caused diseases and is known today for his ideas on how doctors should conduct themselves |
