TermDefinition
Prejudice preconceived opinion that is based on reason or actual experience
Discrimination the unjust prejudicial treatment of different categories of peoples or things
Racism that hate of a different race
Segregation the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race
Integration the intermixing of groups previously segregated
Boycott withdraw from commercial or social relationships with (a country, organization, or person) as a punishment or protest
Civil Disobedience the refusal to comply with certain laws or to pay taxes or fines, as a peaceful form of political protest
Poverty the state of being extremely poor
Medicare a federal system of health insurance for people over 65 years and for certain younger people with disabilities
Medicaid a federal system of health insurance for those requiring financial assistance
Sit-in a form of protest in which demonstrators occupy a place, refusing to leave until their demands are made
Feminist a peson who supports feminism
Interstate existing or carrying on between states
Hispanic Spain or Spanish speaking countries, esp. those relating to Latin America
