Prejudice preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience
Discrimination the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things
Racism the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race
Segregation the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race
Integration the intermixing of people or groups previously segregated
Boycott withdraw from commercial or social relations with (a country, organization, or person) as a punishment or protest
Civil disobedience the refusal to comply with certain laws or to pay taxes and fines, as a peaceful form of political protest
Poverty the state of being extremely poor
Medicare a federal system of health insurance for people over 65 years of age and for certain younger people with disabilities
Medicaid a federal system of health insurance for those requiring financial assistance
Sit-in a form of protest in which demonstrators occupy a place, refusing to leave until their demands are met
Feminist a person who supports feminism
Interstate in a different state
Hispanic of or relating to Spain or to Spanish-speaking countries, esp. those of Latin America
