Enlightenment a philosophical movement characterized by belief in the power of human thought and by changes in government, religion, science, and education.
Petition is a request to do something, most commonly requesting government action.
Smuggle Move trade items illegally into or out of a country.
Smuggler Someone who moves trade items illegally into or out of a country.
Minutemen A group of volunteer soldiers that fought for the Patriot cause during the American Revolution.
Intolerable unacceptable, unbearable.
Massacre brutal slaughter of many people. (Verb) = Deliberately and violently kill (a large number of people)
Apprentice (noun) = A person who is learning a job from a skilled employer, having agreed to work for a fixed period at low wages. (Verb) = to hire someone as an apprentice.
Economy The wealth and resources of a country.
Militia A military force made up of citizens to help defend a country in case of emergency.
Repeal To cancel or get rid of a law.
