TermDefinition
The British gave the Indians weapons and encouraged them to attack settlements during the Revolutionary War.
During 1777, nearly every settlement was raided. This was known as the year of the Bloody Sevens.
Colonists who were loyal to England were called Tories.
The site of Kentucky’s bloodiest Revolutionary War battle was Blue Licks Battlefield State Park.
The settlers took shelter during attacks at community forts.
There are 120 counties in Kentucky.
Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are officially called Commonwealths.
The branch that is pledged to carry out laws is the Executive Branch.
Governments raise money with taxes.
The division of Government into Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches is called the separation of powers.
