what is glycogen? glycogen is a stored form of carbohydrate and is made up of glucose
What is Adipose Tissue? special tissue that is made up of cells in which fats are stored
where is adipose tissue found? on vital organs and under the skin
what are triglycerides? triglycerides are the main form of stored fat, it is used as an energy source
What does ATP stand for? Adenosine Triphosphate
What is mitochondria? organelles within cells where chemical reactions of aerobic respiration take place
what is pyruvate? the end product of glycolysis
what is glycolysis? the process of breaking down glycogen into pyruvic acid, producing some ATP
What is Krebs cycle? a series of chemical reactions in the mitchondria that oxydises acetyl CoA to carbon dioxide and combines hydrogen with hydrogen carriers
