what is the purpose of the formic acid in this stain it is unknown
what caution must be use with the 1st step alsoholic uranyl nitrate temp cannot exceed 60○C or the silver will not precipitate
results for Deiterle method spirochetes/bacteria - brown or black, background - pale yellow or tan, other structures (melanin, chromatin, formalin pigment, pigmented macrphages) - brown to black
