William Shakespeare an English playwright and poet during the late 16th and early 17th centuries
Baltic States Latria, Lithuania, and Estonia, three countries that border the Baltic sea
Totalitarian A government that controls pubic and private life
Channel Tunnel The underwater railroad tunnel between France and England under the English channel
Siberia A huge region in Asian Russia

Market Economy an economic system in which the preclusion of goods and services is decided by the supply and demand od consumers
Serf A peasant who is bound to the land
Czar Title for the rulers of Russia from the mid-1500s to the early 1900s
Magna Carta A charter or document signed by England's king John in 1215 that limited the power of the monarch and guaranteed nobles basic rights
