What is an emergent leader? a leader who is voted into position by their peers and doesnt disrupt the harmony of a team
What is an prescribed leader? a leader who is put into position by an authoritive figure and brings new ideas to a team
what are the two leadership styles according to Fielder? Task oriented and person oriented
what is person oriented leadership? leadership where the focus is on developing the athlete, and to build relationships
what is task oriented leadership? leadership where the focus is soley on completing the task quickly, efficiently and best of their ability
what are the three types of leadership? authoritarian, Democratic and Laissez Faire
what is the Authoritaian style of leadership? a style of leadership that involves the leader making all the decisions, having little interest in members within the group and being dictoral.
what is the democratic style of leadership? a style of leadership that involves the decision making process being shared by all members of a team, values the values of team members and takes an interest in the development of team members.
what is the Lassez Faire style of leadership? a style of leadership that involves delegating all duties to team members, letting them do what they want make few decisions themselves. they also give little feedback and is widely critisised
what do you understand by the term dynamic ineractional process? that leadership is one and involves changing style of leadership. leaders usually have a favoured style. team members demand a certain style and some members loath to change.
Wht is preferred Behaviour? behaviour of a leader that is demanded by group members
what is required behaviour? behaviour of the leader that is demanded by the situation
