Urbanization

TermDefinition
Manual Labor The jobs done by hand, without the help of machines
Tenement Is in most English speaking areas, a substandard multifamily dwelling in the urban core, usually old and occupied by the poor.
Urbanization The movement of people from rural areas to cities.
Settlement House A center that provides help for those who have little money.
Jacob Riis An immigrant from denmark.
Political Machine An organization of people who control votes to gain political power.
Suspension Bridge One that is suspended, or hungry, from steel cables.
Tenant A person who occupies land or property rented from a landlord
