Farming in New England is difficult because... the soil is rocky and not always fertile. New England has a very short growing season.
Why do people move from the cities to the suburbs in the Mid-Atlantic states? Because they want to find a less crowded place to live.
Why did suburbs grow up around cities like New York and Philadelphia? Because cities became crowded and people moved outside of them. People also work in businesses in the suburbs.
Which six states make up New England? Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and New York
What social institutions did the Puritans develop? Schools and churches
What are taxes paid to the government used for? Pay for public services
