jihad a personal struggle to faithfully follow Islam or a struggle with others to faithfully follow Islam (Islamic holy war)
Messiah / Christ the promised /sou shyənt/ Saoshyans (Savior) sent by God to redeem the people of the world of their sins
martyr a person who willingly suffers death or torture instead of renouncing his or her religion and beliefs
missionaries {plural form} missionary {single form} people who travel to an area to proclaim the beliefs of their religion so that the listeners will agree to believe the same religion
monk a man who devotes his life to his religion's laws, commandments, & typically withdrawing himself from the influences of the world
monotheism belief in ONE higher power or god
polytheism belief in MULTIPLE higher powers or gods
prophet a human individual who speaks on behalf of a higher power or through the inspiration of a higher power (the Holy Spirit or messenger angels)
resurrection when God rises our ancestors' dead bodies from their graves so they can enter His Heavenly Kingdom
sabbath Holy day of rest from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday in the Jewish faith
sacrament sacred ceremonies that give Holy Grace (connection) to those who participate
temple a building where pagans or Jewish believers worship
synagogue a building where Jewish believers worship the Lord God
church a building where Christian believers worship the Lord God, Jesus Christ
mosque a building where Muslim believers worship the Lord [Allah] God
the Church The capitalization of Church means the Roman Catholic Church.
