first ten amendments

| 1st amendment | protects freedom of speech, religon, press, and assembly |
| 2nd amendment | rights to bare ordinary weapons |
| 3rd amendment | you do not have to house soldiers in time of peice |
| 4th amendment | no unreasonable searches |
| 5th amendment | cannot be accused of the same crime more than once(double jepordy) cannot incriminate yourself |
| 6th amendment | speedy trial, be told what you did, face the people |
| 7th amendment | rights to a jury |
| 8th amendment | protects cruel and unusual punishments |
| 9th amendment | people have more rights than are listed in the constitution |
| 10th amendment | allows states to pass additional laws |
