distribution of power and citizen participation

federal government form of government that distributes and shares power between small divisions like states and local governments
confederation form of government distributes power equally between a group of states that come together to support each other but has a weak central government
unitary form of government that has a strong central government that decides how much power it will allow states and local governments to have
democracy type of government allows citizens to participate in government by electing other citizens to represent them within the government
oligarchy government in which a small group of people hold all the power, and citizens are allowed little or no participation in the government
autocracy type of government in which one person has all the power in the country, and citizens are allowed little or no participation in the government
