QuestionAnswer
assembly- a group that passes laws and decides about war and peace.
oligarchy- a government controlled by a small group of people.
Cleisthenes- gave Athens the first democratic constitution.
Triremes- Athenian ships that have three tires or levels of rowers.
constitution- a set of rules for governing.
Peloponnesus- are where Athens and Sparta were found.
democratic- favoring the equality of all people.
Delos- an island where the Delian League was found and headquartered.
Draco- leader of Athens who was very harsh and cruel.
Xerxes- Persian leader who burned Athens down.
magistrate- a judge in Athens.
Darius- Persian leader, lost battle of Marathon.
