physical water scarcity a lack of water; in many places around the world; geography and human activities and deforestation can cause the physical ~

Economic water scarcity economic ~ is caused by the lack of infrastructure and unequal distribution of water. FOR INSTANCE, people in slums may have to pay much higher price for water supply.

Water footprint The total volume of freshwater that has been used and polluted by human.
Virtual water The amount of water that is consumed or polluted but produces a product . For example, the water that is used to grow crops.
Hydroelectric power Can cost a huge amounts of water by using hydroelectric turbines. Must have consistently high water levels to operate efficiently; water evaporates much faster from reservoir than from rivers.
Desalination the process of removing salt from seawater. Needs large amounts of energy.
personal solutions eating food from lower part of the food chain; do not use bottled water; more water-efficient appliances; reusing water
community solutions some cultural ideas that use large amount of water should be get rid of.
grey water water that people consider dirty t and unusable. However, we can use it in many other places.
structural solutions support the development of water infrastructure.
