Why were colonists able to govern themselves for a long period of time? Britain was a growing world power, involved in many wars, and the colonies were a long way from Britain.
What were the complaints against the king in the Declaration of Independence? He destroyed colonial legislatures, forced colonists to quarter troops, imposed taxes without the consent of Parliament, did not allow the colonies to trade with other countries, denied the right of trial by jury, and wouldn't pass necessary laws.

What did Patriots believe? They supported the Revolution
What is stated in the Bill of Rights? The rights of citizens that MUST be protected
What made Massachusetts constitution different from other states? The Governor has a fixed salary; he could veto laws, and appoint officials in the executive branch; and only certain people could vote for certain positions in government
