Human Sacrafice A person who is killed as part of a religious ritual.
Clan A large group of friends or family.
Ancestor Worhip Honoring ancestors through rituals, such as offering food and wine to the dead.
Logograph A written character that represents a word.
Economy A system of managing the wealth of a country or region.
Mandate of Heaven A power or law to be granted by God.
Feudalism A system of government based on landowners and tenants.
Civil Servant A person who works for a government.
Yin One half of Taoist concept of opposing forces of nature; Shaded
Yang One half of Taoist concept of opposing forces of nature; Sunlit
Standardize To make the same.
Exiled To live away from one's native country.
Immortal Able to live forever.
Calligraphy The art of fine handwriting.
Anesthetic Something that takes away the feeling of pain.
Compass An instrument for determining direction.
Seismograph An instrument for detecting earthquake
Lodestone A type of iron ore; used to make compasses, since it aligns itself in a North-South direction from the Earth's magnetism.
Toga A loose robe worn by men in Rome.
Mirage An image of something that isn't really there; happens in the desert.
Caravan A group of people traveling together.
