Boycott To refuse to buy certain goods and services.
Militia Army of citizens who serve as soldiers during an emergency.
Non-importation Agreement Promises to stop importing goods taxed by the British.
Repeal To cancel a law.
Petition Formal written request to someone in authority.
Minutemen Colonists who volunteered to fight were called this because they could be ready at a minutes notice or really quick.
Intolerable Act To punish Boston for the Tea Party, Parliament passed this law.
Tea Act Merchants resented this law because it allowed a British company to sell its products directly to the colonists.
British East Indian Company The British government's tax on tea was intended to help this company, which was in deep financial trouble.
