Sahara Desert Located in Africa, this is the largest desert on earth.
Atlas Mountain Range A group of mountains that separate the coastal regions from the Great Sahara Desert.
Sahel A dry Semi-Arid region that is slowly turning into a desert.
Savanna A vast area of grassland and more tropical habitats.
Tropical Rain Forest Areas with hot and humid climates and dense forests with trees hundreds of feet tall.
Kalahari Desert A desert surrounded by Semi-Arid areas that are also becoming drier.
Nile River Longest river in the world.
Congo river A river that flows through the largest rainforest in Africa and the second largest rainforest in the world.
Lake Tanganyika One of the largest freshwater lakes in the world.
Niger River Third largest river in Africa.
Plateau Area of flat or rolling land at high elevation, about 300 to 3,000 Feet.
Great Rift Valley Valley formed along a fault zone that is developing into a divergent plate boundary.
Desertification The process of desert expanding into areas that had formerly been farmland.
Drought Periods of little rainfall.
