TermDefinition
Reform To change for worst to better. This is a solution to a promblem.
Progressive movement A movement in whitch many men and women became a part of in order to bring about reform.
union An organzation whitch helps workers gain higher wages(pay) and better working conditions.
American Federation of Labor An organzation that pressed for higher wages, shorter hours, better working conditions,and thed right to bargain collectively with employers
strike when employers stop working to force an employer to meet demands
Homestead strike A stike that takes place in Homestead, Pennsylvania in whitch union workers agreed to accept lower wages
suffragist people who fight for women's suffrage whitch is a women's right to vote
19th Admendment allowed women's suffrage. this gave women the right to vote
18th Admendment known as the prohibition law, this made it illegal to make, transport, or sell alchol in the United States
temperance movement an reform movement to ban alchol
child labor work that is done by children
Susan B. Anthony fought for women's suffrage
Elizabeth Cady Stanton fought for women's suffrage
