What did explorers begin to look for? They began to look for a northern route to Asia.

Who was Giovanni da Verrazano? He was an Italian but sailed for France.
When did Verrazano set sail? In January of 1524.
When did Verrazano land? He landed in March near North Carolina. Then continued north and discovered the New York bay.
How many trips did Verrazano make to Americas? He made 3 trips to Americas.
Who was Jacques Cartier? He was sent by France to look for the northwest passage and gold.
What did Cartier find on his first trip? He found the mouth of the Saint Lawrence River and claimed it for France.
What did Cartier find on his 2nd trip? He went up the Saint Lawrence River, and saw fish that looked like horses. Reached modern day Montreal and was stopped by River rapids and had to go back.
What happened on carriers 3rd trip? He ended up reaching modern day Quebec.
Who was Henry Hudson? He made 4 voyages and was never seen again.
What happened in 1608 on Hudsons first voyage? He made it to Greenland and went further north through Artic ocean
How did Hudson pay for his 3rd voyage? It's was paid for by Dutch East India Company in Holland.
How long does Hudson spend exploring rivers? He spends a month exploring rivers in New York. Names a river after himself.
What did Hudson claim for the Dutch? He claimed the entire Hudson Valley for the Dutch.
When did Hudson take his last voyage? 1610 is when Hudson took his last voyage.
What did Hudson sail? The northern coast of North America to Hudson Bay and claimed that land for England.
How many months did Hudson spend exploring the bay? He spent 3 months exploring the bay.
What happens in November to Hudson's ship? His ship get frozen in the ice all winter. After freezing all winter his crew mutinied.
What happened to Hudson and 8 crew members? They sent him and 8 crew members away tied up in a little boat. He was never seen again.
