| Where did they sail to? | They sailed to the tip of South America. |
| What did Magellan name? | He named the Pacific Ocean (peaceful). It was calm compared to the Atlantic Ocean. |
| What did Magellan think he could do? | He thought he cross the Atlantic Ocean in a few days-it took 3 months. |
| How did many sailors die? | They died of illness or hunger. |
| How did Magellan die? | He died in battle in the Philippines-he got wounded. |
| How many miles were they from Asia? | 500 miles |
| How many ships made it back to Spain in 1522? | 1 ship made it back to Spain. |
| What did Magellan achieve? | His boat was the first to circumnavigate the world. |
