Babylonia a wealthy and powerful capital of a great empire
Judaism religion practiced by the people of the Jewish faith
Abraham founder of Judaism. led his family from Ur to Canaan
covenant a special agreement
prophet a person who speaks for God
Moses a prophet who lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt
Mount Sinai the mountain where the first five books of the Hebrew bible and the Ten Commandments were given to Moses
Torah means "to teach" and was the first five books of the Hebrew Bible
Ten Commandments the laws God gave Moses on Mount Sinai
David the king of Israel and made city of Jerusalem
Solomon the son of David. he built a great temple in Jerusalem and it was his capital
Enheduana a Sumerian priestess and a scribe who wrote poems to gods and goddesses
Jerusalem a capital in about 1000 B.C.
