| Constantine | The Roman emperor who turned to Christianity |
| Parable | A simple story that explains a moral or religious lesson. |
| Judea | The birthplace of Christianity; a remote territory where Jesus was born. It was located on the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea |
| Crucify | The carrying out of the death penalty by the Romans. |
| Prefect | A high official in Ancient Rome |
| Resurrect | Rising from the dead |
| New Testament | The writing of Jesus' followers |
| Gospels | An account of the life and the teachings of Jesus Christ. |
| Missionary | Someone who tries to persuade others to believe in his or her religious teachings. |
| Messiah | A savior that many Jews believed had been promised by God. |
