TermDefinition
Jesus A man that lived from about 6 B.C.E. to 27 C.E. and opon Whose life and teachings Christianity is based on. Christians refer to him as Jesus Christ.
Gospels An account of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Crucify The Romans way of executing people.
Judea Judea was the Birth place of Jesus Christ.
Prefect A high official in ancient Rome.
New Testament The four gospels make up the new testament.
Blasphemy the act or offence of speaking sacrilegiously about God or sacred things.
Missionary Someone who tries to persuade others to in his or her religious teachings.
Messiah Often the gospels relate events in Jesus life to prophecies about the Messiah.
Resurrect On Sunday, the Gospels say, Jesus rose from the dead. His followers call this event the Resurrection.
Parable a simple story that explains a moral or Religious lesson.
Disciple Early on, Jesus called a small number of people to be his followers or disciples.
Constantine Constantine was an emperor of Rome and the night before a battle Constantine had a dream about Jesus Christ. The next day he had a vision of a cross hanging in the sky in front of the sun. Around the cross were the words, In this sign you will conquer.
