| Christianity | -A religion that follows Jesus Christ. |
| baptize | -A ritual/ceremony where a person is welcomed into a religion. |
| Jesus Christ | -The son of Mary and Joseph who later became the Messiah and the starter of Christianity. |
| disciple | -A person who helps spread the religious teachings of another person. |
| Constantine | -The Roman emperor from 306 to 337.He approved Christianity, was baptized before death. |
| parable | -A simple story that explains a moral or religious lesson. |
| Judea | -The homeland of the Jews which was taken over by the Romans. |
| crucify | -A sentence of hanging to death on a cross, which was used by the Romans. |
| prefect | -A high official in ancient Rome and the military, they were used to keep order, etc. |
| resurrect | -To come back from the dead. |
| New Testament | -Information about Jesus from his followers, including gospels. |
| gospel(s) | -Accounts written about the life and teachings of Jesus, written 30-70 yrs after his death. |
| missionary | -Someone who tries to persuade others to believe in his/her religious teachings. |
| Messiah | -A savior that many Jews believed had been promised by God. |
