TermDefinition
executive branch The section of government that is responsible for carrying out the laws.
liberty Freedom.
legislative branch The section of the government that writes the laws.
government 1. A group of people who have the power to make and enforce laws for a country or area. 2. A type of political system.
bill A written proposal for a new law, discussed to and voted upon by the members of the legislative body.
democracy The free and equal right of everyone to participate in a system of government.
judicial branch The section of government that decides what the laws mean.
veto The power of one branch to reject the legislation of another.
