Puritans They wanted to purify the Church.
Separatists They did not agree with some of the practices of the Church of England so they wanted to separate or cut all ties with the Church
Netherlands Pilgrims tried to immigrate to the Netherlands, but they felt like they were losing their English Culture, and they were not satisfied with the jobs that were available.
Joint Stock Company A group of investors. Pilgrims asked merchants to buy stock so they could start a colony in North America.
Plymouth Wanted to land by Jamestown but because of bad weather the landed too far north near Cape Cod

Mayflower Compact First document that sets up a self- government. A cornerstone for the American form of government
Samoset First Native American to make contact with the Pilgrims. He was able to speak some English from fisherman who had visited that area.
Squanto Taught the Pilgrims how to plant corn, where to plant fish, and how to fertilize the field with fish remains.
Wampanoag A group of many tribes together that live near Plymouth. The tribe was lead by Chief Massasoit. Throughout Chief Massasoit's life, there was a peace agreement in Plymouth
