When England broke away from the Catholic Church what did the form? The Church of England.
Some People did not agree with the practices of the Church, what two groups did these people form? The Separatists and the Puritans.
What did the Separatist group want to do with the Church? They wanted to completely separate from the Church.
What did the Puritans want to do with the Church? They wanted to correct the wrongs of the Church.
Where did the Separatists go after Breaking from the Church of England? They moved to the Netherlands.
Why did the Separatists want to leave the Netherlands to go to America? They were losing their English culture and there were no good jobs.
How did they raise money to sail to America? They started a joint stock company and asked merchants to buy stock.
When they arrived in America, what was the document signed to start up a form of government for them? The Mayflower Compact.
Who became Plymouth's second governor and pastor? William Bradford.
Who was Samoset? He was the first Native American to meet the Separatists, he could talk English to them because he learned it from Fisherman who would fish nearby.
What do we call the Separatists Today? The Pilgrims.
Who was Squanto? Squanto was a Native American who taught the Pilgrims how to plant corn, fertilize with fish remains and hunt beaver.
Where did the Pilgrims want to land, where did the end up? The Pilgrims wanted to land and colonize near Jamestown, they ended up landing near Cape Cod.
Why did they end up landing near Cape Cod. On the journey bad storms blew their ship off course.
Why did they want to land near Jamestown? They wanted to land near Jamestown because they wanted to get tips from the people their so they could start their colony without struggle and if the ran out of food or supplies they could get some from Jamestown.
