QuestionAnswer
When England broke away from the Catholic church, what did they form? The Church of England.
What did the puritans do? They wanted to purify (correct the wrongs) of the church.
What did the separatists do? They broke away from the Catholic church and formed The church of England.
Why did the Pilgrims leave their country? Religious Rights.
What was the Mayflower Compact? It was a cornerstone of the American government. It was the first document to set up a self government.
Who was Samoset? He was the First Native American to make contact with the Pilgrims. He was able to speak some English. He learned how to speak English from fisherman who had visited that area.
Who were the Wampanoag? They were a group of Native Americans that were ruled by Chief Massasoit. Chief Massasoit and the Pilgrims negotiated a peace agreement that lasted all of the chief's life.
Where did the Pilgrims start? The Netherlands
Who was William Bradford? He was the pastor and governor of Plymouth.
Where did the Pilgrims end up? Near Cape Cod
