What were the Pilgrims? They were Separatists who had fled the Church of England
Where did the Pilgrims leave to? They had fled to the Netherlands because they had friends there
What were Puritans? Puritans had wanted to stay with the Church but purify it
What did the Puritans think the bishops of the Church were doing? They had thought that they were spending the money on themselves not the Church
Where did the Pilgrims voyage begin? It had begun in England, Plymouth and had landed in the Netherlands
What was wrong with the Netherlands? They did not have enough good jobs for them to have
Where did leave to next? They had left to land near Jamestown but didn't land close, they had landed on the tip of what is now, Cape Cod
What year did the Pilgrims break away from the church? They broke away from the Church in 1607
How many actual Pilgrims fled to the New World? Only 35 Pilgrims had left and the rest were either soldiers or Puritans
For what reasons did the Pilgrims leave England? They had left because of economic, political, and religious reasons
What was one important man in England? William Bradford was a very important man he was the pastor, leader of the separatists congregation and was the new governor of Plymouth
What important indian had helped them when they landed in Plymouth? Samoset was a important indian that could speak some english and showed them good land to farm on
Who did Samoset invite to meet the Pilgrims? He sent Squanto, which could speak more english and knew better things with hunting and farming
