| totalitarianism | dictatorship: a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.) |
| republic | a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch. |
| bureaucracy | a system of government in which most of the important decisions are made by state officials rather than by elected representatives. |
| politicsc | the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, esp. the debate or conflict among individuals or parties having or hoping to achieve power |
| capitalism | an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state. |
