Describe the oasis and how Arabians adapted to this environment. Oasis is where Arabs could have access to fresh water. An oasis forms when water is trapped underground. It is a fertile green spot in the midst of the desert. People realized they could grow crops on the water and they also dug wells for fresh water.

Why was the Arabian Peninsula well situated for trade? It was well situated for trade because it was surrounded by bodies of water with trade ports and because it is surrounded by cities and continents.

Salat Daily Worship. Muslims pray 5 times a day. When they pray they face toward Mecca. They worship together in places called mosques.
Zakat Charity. Muslims _must_ give 2.5% of their income or possessions. It goes toward poor, orphans,food, shelter, hospitals, and money to Muslims in debt.
Siyam Fasting. Ramadan is when a lot of Muslims fast till daylight to nightfall and depend on Allah for strength rather than food. At the end of their fast Muslims have a big feast.
Hajj Pilgrimage. All Muslims who are capable have to walk to the city of Mecca. The Hajj promotes equality because Muslims from all over the world go to Mecca at the same time.
